A group of UK 70 soldiers were awarded medals this week by the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia, DSRSG Raisedon Zenenga, and the Director of the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS), Mr. Amadu Kamara, in recognition of their distinguished service towards the restoration of peace and stability in Somalia. The UK 70 troops, concluding their tour of duty in Somalia with the UN, have provided medical, engineering and logistical support to the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and to UNSOS. A new group is set to arrive to assume their roles.
