  • 15 November - Security Council resolution 2498 (2019) renewed the partial lifting of the arms embargo and imposed a ban on components used by Al-Shabaab to manufacture Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). [S/RES/2498]

2015

  • 9 November - Security Council resolution 2245 (2015) established the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS) to replace UNSOA, expanding its support to AMISOM, UNSOM, and Somali security forces. [S/RES/2245]
  • 28 July - Security Council resolution 2232 (2015) extended the mandate of AMISOM and UNSOM until 30 May 2016 and stressed the importance of offensive operations against Al-Shabaab. [S/RES/2232]

 

2014

  • 24 October - Security Council resolution 2182 (2014) extended the mandate of AMISOM and amended the sanctions regime. [S/RES/2182]
  • 5 March - Security Council resolution 2142 (2014) extended the partial lifting of the arms embargo on the Somali Government until 25 October 2014. [S/RES/2142]

 

2013

  • 12 November - Security Council resolution 2124 (2013) extended the mandate of AMISOM and authorized an increase in the troop ceiling from 17,731 to 22,126 uniformed personnel. [S/RES/2124]
  • 24 July - Security Council resolution 2111 (2013) renewed the mandate of the Somalia and Eritrea Monitoring Group and tightened the charcoal ban to disrupt Al-Shabaab's funding. [S/RES/2111]
  • 2 May - Security Council resolution 2102 (2013) established the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) to provide "good offices" and policy advice to the Federal Government. [S/RES/2102]
